Interview with Megamint
Why did your group choose this name?
It was a tough process to produce a group name that's nice, memorable and meaningful. So we tried merging our names and after several options we decided on Megamint [Mag and Amin]. It's simple, catchy and hopefully memorable.

How did you guys get together?
We both knew each other at least 5 years ago in a dance studio, Jitterbugs SWingapore That's how everything started.

Where do you all practice together?
We're both instructors in Jitterbugs so most of the time when there's studio availability, we'll use the space to rehearse. Sometimes we practice at Scape open area to help us adapt to different temperature [because it's outdoor] and flooring. Once in a while we'll have late night rehearsal at Brave Dancers Studio Singapore.

How old are both of you?
She is 28 and I am 23.

Did you guys took part in any other events before?
As an individual, we took part in a wide range of dance events; from commercial shows to artistry production to street dance battle. As a group we've participated a dance competition 3 years ago in a club and also Singapore Dance Delight Volume 2.

Tell me what inspire you guys?
Inspiration comes from all areas of life. The simplicity and complexity of natural human reaction is intriguing enough to inspire us. The most basic concept we're still practising is stylising naturalistic movement and exploring with contact improvisation. If we narrow it down to the dance world, we are especially inspired by Sonya Tayeh, Mia Michaels, Christopher Scott and so many others both locally and internationally.

What are your dreams and aspirations?
How far can a professional dancer go? That's probably our dream.

What do you think is the most distinctive feature of your team?
The combination of different styles and personalising it with our own flavour that is uniquely ours.
