Making its debut this year is the Royal Mid-Autumn Gift Set that showcases the White Lotus Seed Paste Baked Mooncakes with Prized Karasumi & Angelica and an elegant Aged Old Pu’er Tea Set encased in a chic red faux Crocodile Skin, two-tier treasure chest. To introduce one-of-a kind, mooncakes, our chefs underwent months of research before deciding on mooncakes that are premium and rich in nutrition, while boasting three different sensations – salty, sweet and a hint of herbal essence.

A highly prized delicacy from Nagasaki, Karasumi (also known as salted mullet roe) was chosen because it is not only renowned as one of the world’s top three delicacies, it is a rare ingredient in Singapore’s culinary scene. Karasumi is also high in nutrition, protein, iron and DHA. Earning the reputation as the ultimate herb for women, Angelica is a good tonic for women; it also aids blood circulation and is also a common medicinal ingredient used in Chinese cooking. Not forgetting the lotus seeds that are a rich source of protein, potassium, zinc and iron.  Reaping these health benefits, the tastes of these three ingredients are perfectly amalgamated, and enveloped in a fragrant crust that boasts a crispy and slightly crumbly texture.

These mooncakes are also paired with Aged Old Pu’er that originates from the Yunnan province in China and has been prized for its health benefits including being rich in antioxidants, lowering of cholesterol, aiding in weight loss, and more.

For an extra crunch, salted peanuts are added throughout the snowskin mooncake. Peanuts are rich in antioxidants and essential vitamins, providing a good source of dietary fibre whilst boosting the immune system.

With the fusion of these two premium ingredients complemented with sweet Roasted Chestnuts, rich duck egg and silky White Lotus Seed Paste, encased in a gold-dusted black charcoal baked mooncake skin, the unique aromas and contrasting textures transforms this traditional mid-autumn treat into a luxurious and irresistible affair.

If you are a fan of bak-kwah, the signature White lotus Seed Paste with Chicken Bak-Kwah & Assorted Nuts Baked Mooncake is a must-try. Inspired by Wan Hao’s renowned Bak-Kwah cookies, our chefs have combined Singapore’s favourite sliced barbecued meat with the nut-filled traditional ‘Wu Ren’ and white lotus seed paste to deliver the winning combination between moist and nutty, sweet and savoury.

Other crowd pleasers comprise of White Lotus Seed Paste with Single/Double Yolk, or with Pine Nuts or Macadamia Nuts. Baked to a crisp golden brown, these traditional mooncakes will thrill the taste bud with a smooth texture and sweet white lotus seed paste that oozes wholesome goodness.
