To mark over 160 years of service to the community and to celebrate Singapore's Golden Jubilee (SG50), Kiehl's Since 1851 is proud to launch "A Celebration of Our Heritage".

This is a project by Kiehl's to assist in the preservation of Singapore's National Monuments. Commitment  to the local communities in which we live in, has always been intrinsic to Kiehgls. Over 50 year ago, the second generation founding-family member, Mr Aaron Morse established the Mission of Kiehl's in saying: "A worthwhile firm must have a purpose for its exisitence. Not only the everyday work-a-day purpose to earn a just profit, but beyond that, to improve in some way the quality of the community to which it is committed. Each firm-as should each person- contributes to those around it; and by dint of its day-to-day efforts, the message it thereby imparts is a revelation of the quality standard at which its life's work is conducted."

Kiehl's is taking a proactive step to highlight the importance of the preservation of Singapore culture through the preservation of National Monuments, which are of historical and architectural significance and national importance. On top of generating public awareness for this initiative, Kiehl's will also be donating 100% of the net proceeds from the limited edition products sold in the month of June to aid in the restoration of these beloved monuments.

Limited Edition Heritage-Designed Products

To support this, in the month of June, Kiehl's will be launching limited-editions of the iconic products Ultra Facial Cream and Ultra Facial Oil-free Gel Cream, $48 each for 15ml, which will have the Kiehl's X Singapore Heritage Design adorning the caps. Kiehl's will donate 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of the limited-edition designed products to the restoration of National Monuments.

Set right in the heart of Singapore's bustling Orchard Road, Crossroads Cafe is perfect place to grab a bite, unwind and enjoy good food and drinks with friends, family or colleagues.

Crossroads Cafe brings East-meets-West cafe concept to life, and at the same time, offering guests a wider menu of signature dishes, premium wines by the glass and draft beers on tap. With a focus on high quality produce and ingredients, you can expect a menu of sumptuous signatures such as Wagyu Burger, or the all-time local favourite – Hainanese Chicken Rice. For those looking for something light at this popular sidewalk bistro, you can give a try on the Crossroads Lyonnaise Salad.

This is definitely a hot spot for people who enjoy people watching while dining and the casual pace keeps it feeling cozy enough for lazy afternoons. Refurbished in late-2012, the airy interiors, new colour palettes and ambient lighting provide diners an overall chic atmosphere.

The restaurant is consistently listed as one of the top restaurants in Singapore. For wine lovers, they are also heralded for its impressive wine list of over 300 selections.

Suckling pig fans alert!
The annual Suckling Pig Feast at Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant at PARKROYAL on Kitchener Road has returns by popular demand with 2 tantalizing new flavours:
-Barbecued Crispy Suckling Pig with Fermented Bean curd
-Whole "Pi PA" Suckling Pig with Minced Garlic and Pineapple Sauce

Jointly developed by Barbecue Chef Zheng Guang Liang and Executive Cantonese Chef Leung Wing Chung, the speciality is available as an a la carte order or in a specially designed set menu at $428 for six persons or $688 for 10 persons.

Barbecued Crispy Suckling Pig with Fermented Bean curd

Perfectly crisp skin!
Definitely one of the best I  have tasted so far.

Fermented bean curd is thoroughly rubbed into the suckling pig before it is put to grill, giving the Barbecued Crispy Suckling Pig with Fermented Bean Curd its distinctively piquant flavour.

******************

Whole "Pi PA" Suckling Pig with Minced Garlic and Pineapple Sauce

The skin of the suckling pig sliced together with its meat and tendons provides a satisfying crunch.
This dish is accompanied by the new Minced Black Garlic and Pineapple Sauce, which reduces the greasiness of the dish and gives the palate a refreshing experience.

******************

Apart from the first course where the crispy skin of the suckling pig is consumed with fluffy handmade bus and scallions, the meat is also employed in three other dishes (Pearl Garoupa in Preserved Vegetables, Roasted Barbequed Pork with Dried Scallops in Superior Pork Rib Congee, Roasted Barbecued Pork with Preserved Vegetable in "Mee Sua" Soup ) in the set menu. It add flavour when steamed with the Pearl Garoupa in Preserved Vegetables and take centrestage in the flavourful and memorable Stir-fried Fillet of pork with Salt and Pepper.

Signature Homemade Fine Bean Curd with Wolfberry
The beancurd is made fresh and served warm.
Tasted really milky and smooth.

Fine Beancurd with ice cream
Perfect paring! Vanila and Sesame Icecream with really fine beancurd!

Deep Fried Durian Balls

When you bite into the ball in your mouth, the durian purée oozes out...
Sinfully delicious!!

Thai horror cinema has generally favored ghosts most of the time. But in the newly released Thai horror movie, "THE BLACK DEATH" centers on zombies. The quality of Thai horror has slipped pretty dramatically in recent years but this one looks like a solid piece of entertainment.

If you liked “The Walking Dead” Series, this might be the movie you would not want to miss. Some scenes will be gruesome or violent but yet it gives you the kind of thrill that you would always expect to be there in any of the horrific films.

The sound design contributes greatly to the feeling of dread. Love the zombie roars that makes the movie so exciting to watch.

Overall, it’s still a good head start for the Thai movie industry to come out with the first Zombie movie. Catch this movie now and experience the new change of the Thai Horror Movie.

Rating: 7 / 10
