500 FRESHLY BAKED BUNS (HALAL) UP FOR GRABS ON SUNDAY (13 APR 2014)

What constitutes in your breakfasts every day? Bread is a norm for me and I will never short-change myself with just plain white bread. Good news for everybody, Swee Heng, the popular confectionery delight, will be opening a new premium bakery in West Mall.

Swee Heng is a household name that should ring a bell to the older generations. Dated back in 1989, it is a family start-up business with its first small shop at Yu Hua village located at Jurong East. It was a mere 650sqft and operated with just 5 staff back then. Establishing a strong namesake of delicious confectionaries, and capturing taste-buds of the heart-landers, business grew huge. Swee Heng now boasts of over 20 outlets spread over the island and a 15000sqft factory located at 24 Senoko Crescent that operates round the clock.

Swee Heng believes in the concept of a bakery in the shop – ensuring that only the best and freshest products are served to the customers. To widen their reach, Swee Heng attained the Halal certification in 2001. Other certifications and accolades include HACCP certification in 2009, Singapore Brands 2011 and the SMEs 500 2012 Awards.

To keep the nostalgia going and scaling the brand to a greater height, a new premium bakery, Swee Heng 1989 Classic, will be opening soon at West Mall. On 13 April 2014, the new outlet will be handing out 500 buns for free as a way of giving back to loyal customers for their unwavering support through the years.

Two bloggers, Corliss Tan (http://corlisstann.blogspot.sg/) and Benjamin (http://benvoda.blogspot.sg/) from The Influencer Network will be gracing the event and helping out in the buns-distributing process. Do support and catch us in action from 4-7pm at West Mall this Sunday!

Doughn’t knead to think too much, just head down to West Mall this Sunday for a great time celebrating Swee Heng’s new premium bakery!

INTERVIEW WITH MR WORLD SINGAPORE 2022 (SENIOR): S3 UMAR ABDUL HAMID

 1) During your entire time of Mr World Singapore 2022 from the time you auditioned till you won the title, tell us - what was the most overwhelming moment for you? Personally, as the grand final day drew nearer, and diet and water had to be stricter, it was hard trying to keep up with the nutrition portion as well as the rest and recovery portion. Aside from that, i was starting to feel a little more anxious that i should and a huge part of it was because i invited my mother to be part of the audience and i wanted the event to be memorable for her. But i guess everything was worth it in the end.  2) What was the prep process like? From the auditions all the way to the Grand Finals, i knew i had to step up as prior to the audition, i let myself go quite abit because of the fact that i was juggling between work and handling my 3 children. But i guess after the audition. i made a clear intent to give 100% to get ready for the grand finals and since then, i made more conscious de...
