Singapore Award-winning Lifestyle Blog. About Events, Food, Travel, Fashion, Entertainment, Technology & More

In few hours time, I gonna step into Gardens by the Bay and work there for Kiehl's Event! It is my 1st time to Garden by the Bay and I'm really excited to view the garden! I'm a nature lover and love taking photo of flower.

I am pretty sure this place will definitely be another tourist attraction! Singapore can be even more proud to say it is a garden city!

Will you be going down too? It is their official opening this Friday (29 June 2012).

Visit their Facebook for more info:

If you’re driving to Bay South Garden, from ECP take exit 17 (towards Changi Airport) or 17A (towards City). Travel onto Marina Boulevard and turn left onto Marina Gardens Drive. There are 2 car parks available at the Gardens – a basement at the Visitor Centre and an outdoor one at The Meadows.

ClearSK products

I was there at the Orchard Central branch one afternoon and tried this machine.

They called this the CLINICAL IPL.
ClearSK™ Clinical IPL is a comfortable and quick procedure that makes use of pulses of light to reverse the skin's photo ageing process, pigmentation and vascular lesions. Our clinical IPL systems incorporated the latest advances in cosmetic IPL - more powerful and yet much less painful due to the “cold touch” technology and combination with thermal RF for better penetration deep into the skin layers.

I feel my pores are shrunk a little after one treatment!!! Woo....

Last week, got invited to visit the NTUC ElderCare Day Care Centre, Silver Circle (Fengshan).

Address:
Silver Circle (Fengshan)
Blk 91 Bedok North Street 4
#01-1527
Singapore 460091

So what is NTUC Eldercare Day Care Centre?
Yes it is basically a place catering to the needs of frail for elderly/ seniors, the day care centre provides a mix of holistic and purposeful activities and programmes that cater to their mental, physical and social well-being. This include: Maintainance rehabilitation exercise; recreation/leisure activities such as arts and crafts, bingo, karaoke, etc; health checks talks and workshop; social outings; physiotherapy assessment and treatment; festive or special event celebrations; three meals daily including lunch and two teas; and daily transportation services.

Conscious of the implications of an ageing population on the healthcare services front, the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) set up NTUC Eldercare Co-operative Ltd since 1997 to provide a range of holistic eldercare services at a quality and affordable level for those needing help in caring for their dependants.

The six centres are open from Mondays to Fridays, 7.30pm to 6pm at
Click here to see more details.

There is a simple calendar placed at the centre for the elderly to read to keep track of the current date and day.

Treating everyone there like a big family together!

Bloggers had a guided tour around the vicinty of the day care centre.

This is their Memories Lounge. Nicely decorated with some ot the items that our parent may used in the past. This may also help in communicating and understand when talking to the elderly.

The charcoal stove which my granny have last time.
Still remember last time people used to drink coffee from the milk tins?

Oh!!! What is this?
Yes it is a old sewing machine!!! My mum still keep one of this at home!!!

This is actually a baby chair!!! I sat on this when I was young too.

Some exercise equipments.

Physiotherapy assessment and treatment are available at the centres for the convenience of both the clients and residents of neighbouring constituencies who are discharged from hospitals but require continuous rehabilitation.

This service is designed to improve, if not maintain, the physical condition of elderly who are suffering from stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, Osteoarthritis (bone aches) and multiple falls.

Check out what other services they provide:
http://www.ntuceldercare.org.sg/eldercare/live/Our-Services/Our-Services/daycare.html

The staff leading the elderly to do some simple workout!

Karaoke!!! Elderly will not get bored staying there anymore! They can sing to their favourite songs.

There is locker for the elderly to keep their valuables and belonging.

This is where they have their meals.
Clean and neat environment.

Art & Craft works done by the elderly there.

I missed my art and craft lesson during school!
Not bad right, elderly also can learn some art and craft there.

Now who say staying at the Day Care Centre is boring or not fun?
Over at NTUC Eldercare Centre, elderly also get to play some games together.

With such a great environment, I'm pretty sure all the elderly will enjoy their stay here.
See that's me and Hong Peng catching up over some coffee from the tin- the traditional way. hahaha...
