Look like more and more people are involved in Darren’s murder. Recently a fifth person has been charged as an accomplice to the Downtown East murder case of Darren Ng Wei Jie, the Republic Polytechnic student. Louis Tong Qing Yao, a 16-year-old student, is accused of being part of an unlawful assembly that assaulted and killed 19-year-old Darren Ng Wei Jie in broad daylight about two Saturdays ago at the Downtown East. Tong also has three other charges filed against him for acting on behalf of an illegal moneylender. Three of the youths charged with murder last week – Tang Jia Min, 21, Ho Wui Ming, 20, and Chen Wei Zhen, 19 — will join Tong back in court next Tuesday. The final accomplice, 18-year-old Edward Tay Wei Loong, is still warded at Changi General Hospital after injuring his head while trying to escape from the police arrest last week.
