Come next month (April 2019) will be an exciting month!

Because Jewel Changi Airport is opening and Changi Airport will no longer be a place just for you to catch your flights or hoover up duty-free stuff.

Designed by world renowned architect Moshe Safdie, Jewel will feature a distinctive dome-shaped facade made of glass and steel, making it an iconic landmark in the airport’s landscape. The complex covers a total gross floor area of 134,000 m, spanning 10 storeys – five storeys above-ground and five basement storeys.

It is sited next to Terminal 1 (T1) and linked to T2 and T3 via air-conditioned linkways fitted with travelators. Visitors can look forward to world class experience that includes gardens, attractions, a hotel, aviation facilities and 300 retail and dining facilities.

Here are a list of attractions to get you excited:

1) EXPLORE SHISEIDO FOREST VALLEY

Explore idyllic landscapes bathed in natural sunlight, with a spectacular waterfall at the core. You'll discover intriguing plants from all around the world, with over 2,000 trees and 100,000 shrubs in this verdant indoor garden.

Take a gentle hike up through the Shiseido Forest Valley to Canopy Park on Jewel's topmost level. The eastern trail leads you past rocky falls, while mists enhance your trek through the western trail. Admire the wide vistas across the Shiseido Forest Valley and find enchantment at every turn.

2) RELAX AND ENJOY THE SHOW AT RAIN VORTEX

SPECTACULAR BY DAY: Flowing 40 metres down to the basement, the mighty cascade will mesmerise you as the sunlight catches the spray.

STUNNING BY NIGHT: When the sky outside darkens, the continuous pour of the Rain Vortex takes on a mystic splendour. Come nightfall, the sheet of water becomes a screen on which a light-and-sound show is projected. Relax at one of the many vantage points surrounding it and enjoy the show.

No matter how busy you are, though, your schedule shouldn't stop you from planing on a short getaway trip to retreat and recharge.

Why not consider spending a weekend away at the iconic hilltop resort Resorts World Genting situated at Genting Highlands where you and your loved ones can enjoy a variety of attractions at 6,000 feet above sea level with cool weather ranging from 14 to 22 degrees daily.

Although the outdoor theme park isn’t operational at the moment, some of you may be wondering what else is fun to do there?

I've been there earlier this month and I'm really impressed with the new attractions!

Here are the 13 best places in Genting Highland that you should visit.

1) Alive Museum

Alive Museum, a 3D optical illusion park where art comes to life!

Alive Museum has a huge range of artworks that trick the eye with optical illusions to make a 2D piece of work appear as 3D. The floors, walls and ceilings are used to create unique art pieces which come to life! This is an interactive museum where you are free to touch all the exhibits so is a great choice for those with kids.

Get ready your camera and unleash your creativity and have endless fun at Alive Museum. Every inch of the museum is covered with remarkable paintings painted by artist all the way from South Korea. This is a must visit place to create fun memories!

Entrance is RM38 per person whilst kids less than 36 months old go in for free. Last admission is at 9.00pm. There is currently a special rate at RM35 for a limited time only.

2) Shopping at SkyAvenue

Shop till you drop and eat till your full at SkyAvenue, a 1.4 million sq ft, five-storey shopping mall has brought the resort to a whole new level on dining and shopping experience with 168 retail outlets. Shop luxury brands up on level two with brands such as Michael Kors, Jo Malone, Coach, Longines and Hugo Boss.

For high street fashion, you may head to the third floor with some popular tenants such as H&M, Thomas Sabo and Adidas Originals.

3) Zombie Outbreak in Resorts World Genting

Zombies have broken loose and are somewhere in Resorts World Genting!
Expect some thrills and screams! The entrance is a great photography spot too.

Combined with the latest Dolby Atmos audio system that wraps the audience with three-dimensional sound, the hall will make guests truly feel like they are part of the scene – along for the ride in thrilling chase sequences and feeling the weight of every single impact, whether physical or emotional.

Bona Cinemas is located on Level 1 of SkyAvenue mall in Resorts World Genting. The cinema has a total of six halls, covering 38,848 square feet.
