13 best places to visit in Genting Highland
No matter how busy you are, though, your schedule shouldn't stop you from planing on a short getaway trip to retreat and recharge.
Why not consider spending a weekend away at the iconic hilltop resort Resorts World Genting situated at Genting Highlands where you and your loved ones can enjoy a variety of attractions at 6,000 feet above sea level with cool weather ranging from 14 to 22 degrees daily.
Although the outdoor theme park isn’t operational at the moment, some of you may be wondering what else is fun to do there?
I've been there earlier this month and I'm really impressed with the new attractions!
Here are the 13 best places in Genting Highland that you should visit.
1) Alive Museum
Alive Museum, a 3D optical illusion park where art comes to life!
Alive Museum has a huge range of artworks that trick the eye with optical illusions to make a 2D piece of work appear as 3D. The floors, walls and ceilings are used to create unique art pieces which come to life! This is an interactive museum where you are free to touch all the exhibits so is a great choice for those with kids.
Get ready your camera and unleash your creativity and have endless fun at Alive Museum. Every inch of the museum is covered with remarkable paintings painted by artist all the way from South Korea. This is a must visit place to create fun memories!
Entrance is RM38 per person whilst kids less than 36 months old go in for free. Last admission is at 9.00pm. There is currently a special rate at RM35 for a limited time only.
2) Shopping at SkyAvenue
Shop till you drop and eat till your full at SkyAvenue, a 1.4 million sq ft, five-storey shopping mall has brought the resort to a whole new level on dining and shopping experience with 168 retail outlets. Shop luxury brands up on level two with brands such as Michael Kors, Jo Malone, Coach, Longines and Hugo Boss.
For high street fashion, you may head to the third floor with some popular tenants such as H&M, Thomas Sabo and Adidas Originals.
3) Zombie Outbreak in Resorts World Genting
Zombies have broken loose and are somewhere in Resorts World Genting!
Expect some thrills and screams! The entrance is a great photography spot too.

4) Bona Cinemas- New IMAX and Gold Class with D-Box Halls in Resorts World Genting

Bona Cinemas is located on Level 1 of SkyAvenue mall in Resorts World
Genting. The cinema has a total of six halls, covering 38,848 square
feet. All halls are equipped with the latest Dolby Atmos sound system for
maximum cinematic immersion, and a wide variety of snacks are available at the
concession stand.
5) Glass Floor Gondola Ride at Awana Skyway in Resorts World Genting
To reach the resort, visitors may take a ride on the Awana Skyway cable car, for a breathtaking journey on the normal gondola or on the glass-floor gondolas.
Passengers have the option of disembarking at two stops to explore the attractions around Resorts World Genting. They can alight at Chin Swee station to enjoy the panoramic views at the Chin Swee Caves Temple or they can remain in their gondola until the final stop at SkyAvenue station which connects directly to the SkyAvenue shopping mall.
6) Jurassic Research Center in Resorts World Genting
See mysterious creatures which used to roam the earth millions of years ago and have fun taking photo with your friends.
7) The SkySymphony show
For some awesome digital entertainment, the mall's Times Square also houses a three-storey high giant LED screens that synchronizes with the SkySymphony show that showcases 1,001 winch kinetic balls, the largest and most spectacular winch performance in the world.
Four inaugural shows – Forest, Urban Symphony, The Goddess, Ocean Groove with Maestro Ning and Jungle Jam immerses visitors into panoramic sight and sound presentations. The kinetic balls move to form shapes to support the story’s premise or trajectory. The balls offer a 3D effect to the presentations seen on the LED screens.
8) The VOID in Resorts World Genting
Situated within Skytropolis Funland is The VOID, a hyper-reality experience as the first permanent location and the biggest of its kind in Asia. The VOID uses custom VR technology along with physical stages to create immersive experiences that inspire exploration and engagement.
The VOID includes titles from well-loved franchises such as Star Wars™: Secrets of the Empire and Ralph Breaks, from the movie Wreck-it Ralph.

9) Skytropolis Funland in Resorts World Genting
Although the new outdoor theme park may not be operational now, you can visit the new and improved indoor theme park, Skytropolis which was was opened on 8th December at Resorts World Genting with 13 rides: Balloon Race, Sky Towers, Loop de Loop, Boo Boo Bump, Disco!, Copper Express, Bumper Boss, Spin Crazy, Royal Carousel, Whirley Bugs, Ride ‘Em Round and Space Cadet spread across 400,000 square feet.
There will also be more rides in 2019 for a total of 22 rides that surely meet the fun and excitement of children and the whole family. Seven kiosks are also spread out within the indoor theme park with snacks such as waffles and durian-based pastry available.
10) EAGLE LANDING ZIPLINE in Resorts World Genting
Those who have a good head for heights can head for the Eagle Landing Zipline, stretching 200 metres across the indoor theme park, four floors from the ground. The zip line which is the longest in a shopping mall in Malaysia, offers a one-of-a-kind view of the indoor theme park for adrenaline junkies who will whizz through, high above everyone.
Tickets are at RM31 for one rider, RM25 for two riders and RM19 for 4 riders. A weight and height limit applies for participants.
11) Ripley’s Believe It Or Not Odditorium in Resorts World Genting
Ripley’s Believe It Or Not Odditorium is the most outrageous and unbelievable attractions not only from around the world but the universe.
12) RedTail by Zouk and RedTail Karaoke in Resorts World Genting
Located along in the Zouk Atrium (Level G of SkyAvenue) is RedTail. RedTail by Zouk has a lively interior decorated in different hues of red. It is a perfect pre-drinking spot with a huge variety of games such as Giant Beer Pong, Giant Jenga, fusball and even electronic games machines. You can enjoy cool live music, as well as light meals and snacks.
Karaoke is just plain fun — even if it's not a regular pastime. RedTail karaoke is the place for
you with six rooms adorned with fun mascots such as Steve the drum-playing
gorilla, Eddy the saxophone-playing panda and Joe the break dancing flamingo.
Visitors can expect fresh new experiences with different themes across Reggae,
K-pop, EDM, Rock and the Classics to explore.
For those who loves clubing, there is Empire by Zouk and Zouk Genting, a hip-hop club, where you can dance and drink your night away. The massive club can fit up to 1500 and will see international DJs and artists performing.
