Singapore’s very first meeting hotel that provides creative meeting spaces

What’s a hotel without rooms? Huone does away with the bedrooms but what remains is not an empty shell but a vibrant, wide-open playground for presentations, corporate gatherings and office meetings. As Singapore’s very first meeting hotel that exclusively services the B2B crowd, it provides visually stimulating meeting spaces that will coax creativity and inspiration that is a departure from the usual insipid workshop sessions.

Huone – the Events Hotel has 11 meeting rooms with maximum capacities ranging from 25 to 150 attendees. Each room is themed according to their names: Forest, Theatre, Runway, Cottage, Warehouse, Time, Swing, Igloo, Sandbox, Nest, and Cloud. The Forest room, Runway, Time and Theatre are able to cater to a traditional meeting setup while the wilder, wackier decorated Swing, Nest and Sandbox are fun filled spaces that take the idea of a meeting out of the proverbial box.

My favourite rooms are the Cottage and Warehouse as they mingle the quirky and serious in good measure. They are also more intimate, although still fairly large, and this helps to put the attendees at ease with its warm colour scheme and ample breathing space. Surely a room destined to have great ideas emerge from it, much like the Parisian cafes that engendered groundbreaking thoughts amongst the intelligentsia of the day.

Aside from the diverse designs, similarities across the rooms include event coordinator services, high-speed Wi-Fi, AV equipment and writing equipment. There is also a full service kitchen on site with a full time chef and culinary team that understand wholeheartedly the importance of good food, especially in a city like Singapore. In addition to international favourites, it can whip up a laudable dish of Peranakan delights to give more than just a flavour of Asia to busy executives shuttling between cities solely for business.

The lunch/ dining area is common and shared amongst all groups holding events at Huone to facilitate mingling, network building and to foster an open atmosphere. After all, you never know when you will find your next big deal and serendipity often has a part to play in it.

The one-of-a-kind meeting concept introduced to our sunny isle, Singapore originates from the snowy Scandinavian country, Finland, where its mother company is headquartered. Led by young entrepreneur, Evon Soderlund and Joewin Tan, CEO of Huone Singapore, this dynamic duo run a tight and tightly-knit ship with plans to make landfall and establish a presence in the top 10 Meeting Cities in the world by 2025; Seoul, Tokyo, and beyond.

Thinking of your next B2B meeting or event? You can find Huone conveniently located in the commercial heart of Singapore or book a space via the app, EVENTSOME®.

From the auditions all the way to the Grand Finals, i knew i had to step up as prior to the audition, i let myself go quite abit because of the fact that i was juggling between work and handling my 3 children. But i guess after the audition. i made a clear intent to give 100% to get ready for the grand finals and since then, i made more conscious de...

1) During your entire time of Mr World Singapore 2022 from the time you auditioned till you won the title, tell us - what was the most overwhelming moment for you? To be honest, it was when i saw my friend Stanley give the most touching proposal on coronation night. It really made me tear up seeing how emotional he got while on his knee 2) What was the prep process like? The prep process was pretty vigorous nearing towards the end, as there were many events to go for and practices to attend. Though vigorous, I felt that they were all enjoyable with the class of 2022 around. 3) Are there any nervous moments and stress factors during the competition and how did you deal with it? Yes definitely, Im always nervous whenever there is a Q&A segment as im afraid I’ll freeze up on stage or not be able to give a satisfactory answer.
