Happy Mother's Day- DIY Plastic Vase

1
Love is not easily expressed in words, so show it with a DIY gift that conveys your gratitude and affection toward your mum!

The above picture on the left is me holding a bottle of F&N Sparkling Drink (500ml) and on the right is me holding a vase with Carnations flowers for my mum for Mother's Day.

Well have you noticed?
The vase is actually made using the F&N plastic bottle! It's unbelievable right!

Since Mother's Day (09-05-2010) is around the corner and I would like to take this opportunity to share with you all this wonderful DIY gift idea you can make with F&N plastic bottles as they are most suitable for making this vase!

It's easy to make and eco-friendly!

Surprise her this coming Mother's Day!

Just follow the below steps to make one:
F&N plastic bottle transforming into a vase 2
Mark and cut the bottle to give an even edge horizontally (See the red marked line on the picture). Slightly above where the label are.

Measure and make straight, evenly spaced cuts all the way around the bottle.

Cut the segments in half, quarter and then cut each of those in half to make even, thin strips.

There should be 32 thin stripes in total.

Carefully press and fold all the strips outward to make a level edge all the way around.

Press the bottle upside down on a flat surface to ensure an even edge.

Then weave the tip of a strip over No.1 and under No.2 & No.3.

Fold and crease it.

Continue around in this pattern until the last three and tuck each one under the next until woven in completely.

Ok the vase is completed!

IMG_6909
This creation looks like a delicate glass or crystal vase right?

It is unbreakable and can still be recycled later if desired!

IMG_6915
Since it is Mother's Day, so I chose Carnations flowers for my mum!

IMG_6945
I did learned a bit of flower arranging from my friend before doing this!

It was fun! You should try it!

IMG_6916
Ok trim the access stem away...

Then tie the stems with a rubber band before inserting it into the sponge.

IMG_6994
Ok done!

It is all ready to give it to your mum now! Yeah!

I chose this F&N bottle to make this vase because of 3 reasons!

1) I love the F&N Outrageous Orange drink!
2) The F&N bottles are nicely designed and very suitable for such vase making.
3) I can recycle the bottle after participating in F&N "Taste It. Share It." Promotion and stand to win a 4D3N trip for 4 person to Osaka, Japan. (Find out more here on how you can take part in this promotion too.)

With that, I salute all mothers and I wish you all a day of love, laughter and joy with your loved ones.

 1) During your entire time of Mr World Singapore 2022 from the time you auditioned till you won the title, tell us - what was the most overwhelming moment for you? From the auditions all the way to the Grand Finals, i knew i had to step up as prior to the audition, i let myself go quite abit because of the fact that i was juggling between work and handling my 3 children. But i guess after the audition. i made a clear intent to give 100% to get ready for the grand finals and since then, i made more conscious de...

1) During your entire time of Mr World Singapore 2022 from the time you auditioned till you won the title, tell us - what was the most overwhelming moment for you? To be honest, it was when i saw my friend Stanley give the most touching proposal on coronation night. It really made me tear up seeing how emotional he got while on his knee 2) What was the prep process like? The prep process was pretty vigorous nearing towards the end, as there were many events to go for and practices to attend. Though vigorous, I felt that they were all enjoyable with the class of 2022 around. 3) Are there any nervous moments and stress factors during the competition and how did you deal with it? Yes definitely, Im always nervous whenever there is a Q&A segment as im afraid I’ll freeze up on stage or not be able to give a satisfactory answer. I guess how I dealt with it was to just let down my shoulders and enjoy the moment. Being relaxed and just being myself because that’s what people want to see! 4...
