Visit to Malaysia International Shoe Festival 2013
Thanks Tourism Malaysia once again for inviting me to KL & Penang!
This time visit to KL was in conjunction with the Malaysia International Shoe Festival 2013.
I have been to KL several time and always enjoy eating & shopping, but have never attend their Shoe Festival before. So this is going to be my 1st time attending the event!
As for Penang, it was my 1st time being there and the experience was great!
I will be sharing more on Penang on my next blog post.
So for this post I will concentrate more on my stay at KL and also the Shoe Festival.
26 March 2013- Departing to Malaysia with Malaysia Airline to attend Malaysia International Shoe Festival (MISF) 2013!
The Malaysia International International Shoe Festival is held from 28- 31 March and this year is the 4th year they are having this big event. Themed '1Malaysia- Walking in Unity, Sole of the Nation', the 3 day event showcased more than 150 local and international brands including Fiorucci, Snowfly, Larrie, Verns, Geox, Good Arch, Alfio Rado, Ecco, Timberland, Amori.

I quite enjoyed my stay in this hotel room.
It was very spacious and I love their pillow- Soft and Comfy!
They have spacious shower room too!
Walking distance from the hotel is Pavillion- one stop shopping paradise
We had dinner at Seri Melayu which is just 2 minutes walk from The Royale Chulan Hotel.
Do go for their Dinner Buffet (6.30pm- 10.30pm, daily except Sunday) at only RM72 (Nett) for adult and RM$42.25 for childen.
Beside eating great local food, you also get to watch their Traditional Cultural Show Performance (8.30pm-9.15pm) daily except on Sunday. Ample free parking too!
They have lunch too but Ala Carte only (12pm-3pm, Mon- Thurs only).

28 March 2013- Attended the Official Launch of Malaysia International Shoe Festival (MISF 2013). The MISF is one of Tourism Ministry's most creative and innovative idea in attracting greater number of tourists especially shoes enthusiats to visit Malaysia since 2010. It also aims to promote footwear tourism, manufacturing and quality of Malaysian shoe design and craftsmanship.
Malaysia's footwear exports have earned US$200mil ( RM621mil) from markets such as Brazil, the United Kingdom, Mexico and Asean Countries.

Fashion Show
The Biggest Shoes made with 40,000 pieces os shoelaces. It involves 17 design students from The One Academy, Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya who took about 1 month to complete the shoe.
Dato' Sri Dr. Ng Yen Yen, Minister of Tourism Malaysia placing the final piece to the "Biggest Sculpture made of Shoelace" to be recorded in Malasia Book of Records.
