Rice Dumpling from Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant

Dragon boat festival 端午节 (14 June) is just weeks away and out of the surfeit of rice dumplings already on sale! Have you feast on any yet?

Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant at PARKROYAL on Kitchener Road celebrates this festival with a variety of dumplings packed with luxurious goodness!

Here are their 3 flavourful rice dumplings:

Traditional Cantonese Brown Rice and Wagyu Beef (和牛五谷粽)

SGD16 Per Set (Two pieces)

OR SGD9.80 Per Piece

Inspired by the zodiac year of the Ox, Executive Chef Leung Wing Cheung and his team chose the American Wagyu meat to create Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant’s very own Traditional Cantonese Brown Rice and Wagyu Beef (和牛五谷粽). Wrapped in bamboo leaves and simmered for over

three hours, this process helps accentuate the aroma and flavours of each ingredient present, namely glutinous rice, brown rice, green bean, garlic and its star ingredient, the tender wagyu beef.

Traditional Cantonese Rice Dumpling with Abalone and Goose Liver Sauce (鲍鱼鹅肝酱裹蒸粽)

SGD22.80 Per Piece

Originated from Guangdong, China, the Traditional Cantonese Rice Dumpling with Abalone and Goose Liver Sauce (鲍鱼鹅肝酱裹蒸粽) is famed for the sheer size and shape of it, and most definitely for the quality fillings. Well-seasoned and skillfully prepared, the perennial favourite parcel

comprises of Chef’s signature roasted pork, roast duck, marinated pork belly, and salted egg yolk, encased in lotus leaf, steamed to perfection.

Chilled Sago Dumpling with Purple Potato, Red Bean and Lychee (雪花紫薯豆沙水晶粽)

SGD10 Per Set (Three pieces).

I'm surprised by the final dumpling that is made with a twist. Unlike the usual sticky rice dumpling, chef’s newest creation spots a translucent body with vibrant shades of green, purple and orange. The Chilled Sago Dumpling with Purple Potato, Red Bean and Lychee (雪花紫薯豆沙水晶粽), completes the collection as a delectable sweet treat with an interesting texture and chewy bite.

Si Chuan Dou Hua's rice dumplings are available for ordering à la carte, bundle set and 6 course set menu, from 17 May to 14 June 2021.

INTERVIEW WITH MR WORLD SINGAPORE 2022 (SENIOR): S3 UMAR ABDUL HAMID

 1) During your entire time of Mr World Singapore 2022 from the time you auditioned till you won the title, tell us - what was the most overwhelming moment for you? Personally, as the grand final day drew nearer, and diet and water had to be stricter, it was hard trying to keep up with the nutrition portion as well as the rest and recovery portion. Aside from that, i was starting to feel a little more anxious that i should and a huge part of it was because i invited my mother to be part of the audience and i wanted the event to be memorable for her. But i guess everything was worth it in the end.  2) What was the prep process like? From the auditions all the way to the Grand Finals, i knew i had to step up as prior to the audition, i let myself go quite abit because of the fact that i was juggling between work and handling my 3 children. But i guess after the audition. i made a clear intent to give 100% to get ready for the grand finals and since then, i made more conscious de...
