Shine Youth Festival 2011 Closing Ceremony

Yesterday evening (30 July 2011), Me and a group of blogger friends attended the closing ceremony of the month-long SHINE Youth Festival 2011.

Guest-of-Honour, Mr Chan Chu Sing, Acting Minister for community Development, Youth and Sports, and chairman, National Youth Council was at the event too.

Congrats to the 3 stars who had won the awards.

They are Justine Lee, 20, a social entrepreneur who started with a bold idea to donate shoes to children in the rural parts of China for every pair of shoes that he sold.

Mohammed Farhan Bin Mohd Firdaus, 25, once a playful and indulges child who found the courage and strength to step up and support his family when it fell on hard times, and excel in his studies. Today he inspires other youths from poor and troubled background.

Lastly we also have Salihim Bin Sinal, 24, the first intellectually disabled athlete in Asia to reach Africa's highest peak-Mount Kilimanjaro demostrating that with perseverance and courage, there are no limit as to what the intellectually disabled can achieve.

The guests were also invited to stay on to catch the recent released great movie, Captain America- The First Avenger!

Take note: Do stay on for an extra part of the movie after the movie's credits.
