My Honest Review of the LUMOS Tablet — Budget-Friendly, Surprisingly Capable

I’ve always had a soft spot for discovering local tech gems — and that’s how I stumbled onto the LUMOS Tablet. You probably know LUMOS for their projectors, but they’ve recently launched a tablet that caught my attention.

Spoiler: For the price, it actually delivers. Here’s my personal take after using it for a couple of weeks — plus the specs you’ll want to know.

First Impressions

Unboxing the LUMOS Tablet felt like a good start. It has a 10.1-inch Full HD IPS Display (1920 x 1200), which immediately stood out — bright, clear, and vibrant enough for Netflix marathons or YouTube spirals.

The tablet weighs around 500g and has a sleek, modern design that doesn’t feel cheap at all. It’s light enough to toss in your tote or backpack without feeling like you’re carrying a brick.

Under the Hood – Technical Specs

Here’s a quick look at what powers this tablet:
Processor: Octa-Core 2.0GHz
RAM: 4GB
Storage: 64GB (expandable up to 256GB via MicroSD)
Operating System: Android 12
Battery: 6,000mAh (easily lasted me a full day of casual use)
Camera: 5MP rear, 2MP front (honestly, just okay — decent for video calls, but nothing fancy)
Connectivity: Dual-band WiFi (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C port
Extras: Dual stereo speakers, 3.5mm headphone jack

Real-Life Performance

I used the LUMOS Tablet mostly for streaming, reading, and some light productivity — like replying emails, note-taking, and managing my calendar. No lag, no weird glitches. Apps ran smoothly, multitasking was decent (within reason), and the Android 12 experience felt clean and snappy.

One underrated feature? The dual speakers. Sound was surprisingly loud and clear — I didn’t feel the need to plug in my headphones unless I wanted privacy.

What I Love:

✅ Vibrant Full HD screen – perfect for media consumption
✅ Expandable storage – always useful for long flights or offline viewing
✅ Stock Android experience – minimal bloatware
✅ Strong battery life – a full day without needing to top up
✅ The LUMOS Tablet’s detachable keyboard gives you the laptop typing feel without the bulk. Lightweight, responsive, and magnetically attached, it’s perfect for fast typing, quick shortcuts, and boosting your productivity anywhere.

What Could Be Better:

❌ The cameras are basic — don’t expect crisp selfies
❌ Not built for high-performance gaming or multitasking with heavy apps
❌ The bezels are a little thick by 2025 standards — but honestly forgivable at this price

Final Verdict

If you’re looking for a budget tablet under S$200, the LUMOS Tablet punches above its weight. It’s perfect for students, content consumers, or even older users who want something fuss-free and reliable. Don’t expect iPad Pro levels of performance — but for the essentials? It’s more than enough.

You can even turn the LUMOS Tablet into a mini laptop with the bundle package

Would I recommend it? For casual, everyday use — absolutely yes.

From the auditions all the way to the Grand Finals, i knew i had to step up as prior to the audition, i let myself go quite abit because of the fact that i was juggling between work and handling my 3 children. But i guess after the audition. i made a clear intent to give 100% to get ready for the grand finals and since then, i made more conscious de...
