Lenovo Announces Range of Convertible Devices Designed for Windows 8

Singapore – October 30, 2012: Lenovo (HKSE: 992) (ADR: LNVGY) announced the availability of its range of convertible devices designed for the Windows 8 and Windows RT platform. For consumers, the touch-optimized convertibles include the IdeaPad Yoga 13 UltrabookTM, offering a blend of work and play and the IdeaPad Yoga 11, a svelte, all day mobile companion. For professionals, Lenovo introduces the ThinkPad Twist S230u, a business-ready Ultrabook and the first in the ThinkPad line of new convertible devices, together with the sleek and versatile ThinkPad Tablet 2.

IdeaPad Yoga Flexes like a Yoga Master
The world’s first multi-mode Ultrabook with 360o flip design, the IdeaPad Yoga 13 provides users with the ultimate flexibility between work and play. The Yoga 13’s revolutionary hinge design allows it to rotate through a 360o angle and switch between laptop and tablet in one simple motion.
Infused with powerful 3rd generation Intel Core™ processors and powered by Windows 8, Yoga 13 provides laptop-grade performance to get work done all day even as users are on the move, thanks to its super slim 16.9 mm frame weighing in at 1.54kg and eight hours of battery life. At a flip of the hinge, Yoga 13 transforms into a media-friendly tablet primed with rich audio-visual features. Photos, videos and websites look stunning on its 13.3-in high definition IPS display, which provides bright background and vivid colors. Users can even gesture to flip through photos with Yoga 13’s special Motion Control technology or simply use their fingers on the ten point multi-touch screen.

Its smaller screen size counterpart, Yoga 11, is the world’s slimmest multi-mode PC, measuring just 15.6 mm thin. Yoga 11’s slim design, 11.6-in screen and long 13 hour battery life make it a great convertible for mobility. Equipped with NVIDIA Tegra 3 – Yoga 11 lets users watch movies in HD, play games, get connected and stay productive virtually all day long.

Both Yoga 13 and 11 can be used in two other modes in addition to laptop and tablet: convert them into a Stand1 by flipping the keyboard behind the screen to comfortably watch movies or view pictures up close, or bend them upright like a Tent2 to bring games or video chats to life.


ThinkPad Twist S230u Puts a New Spin on Business Computing
The ThinkPad Twist S230u makes it easy to choose one affordable device that can do it all. Use it as a full-performance Ultrabook, and then twist the top to switch to a convertible tablet. The 12.5-in ThinkPad Twist S230u gives professionals the technologies they need for both business and personal use. It features up to 3rd generation Intel Core i7 processors, up to Windows 8 Pro, large storage up to 500 GB and the ThinkPad’s legendary keyboard, quality and reliability features. Users can work for hours on-the-go with nearly all-day battery life and tablet-like quick resume from standby.
This powerful machine also includes dedicated software tools that provide added security and manageability features, including Lenovo Solutions for Small Business powered by Intel Small Business Advantage.


ThinkPad Twist S230u’s high definition IPS display and stereo speakers produce a stand out multimedia experience, be it for a client video presentation or watching an action-packed movie after a long day at work. Like Yoga, it can convert into new modes like Tent and Stand, a great position for work collaboration via the multi-touch screen.

The Versatile ThinkPad Tablet 2
The ThinkPad Tablet 2, also designed for Windows 8 and powered by Intel Atom™ Processor, was unveiled alongside the new convertibles. This versatile tablet lets users work at their productive best with options for multi-finger touch support, pen input or the ability to connect to the optional ThinkPad Tablet 2 keyboard and dock for a PC-like computing experience. The ThinkPad Tablet 2 includes a host of IT manageability, security and corporate-level service and support to help IT managers easily deploy in their business environments.

Pricing and Availability

The IdeaPad Yoga 13 (Intel Core i7 processor) will be available in mid November with prices starting from SGD 1,899, while the IdeaPad Yoga 11 will be available in early December starting from SGD 1,199. Both products are currently available for pre-order.

Lenovo is partnering with SingTel to offer an exclusive edition of the IdeaPad Yoga 13 (Intel Core i5 processor priced at $1,799) with every sign up of SingTel 150Mbps Fibre BroadBand at $98 per month or 15Mbps Home BroadBand at $79.90 per month.

The ThinkPad Twist S230u is available starting today with prices starting from SGD 1,699.

The ThinkPad Tablet 2 will be available in mid December with prices starting from SGD 999.
