Apart from the yu sheng, “Poon Choi”or pot of vegetables (a traditional peasant dish that originated some 900 years ago) is a classic culinary touchstone on any celebratory table.

Another cultivated treasure from the trove of the ocean is the festive musthave, red grouper, which symbolizes prosperity and abundance.
