SCS Butter- Your Perfect Butter for Your Perfect Pineapple Tarts

Ring in the brand new Chinese New Year as the ram prances aside to make way for the spirited year of the monkey. Chinese New Year is a highly anticipated festival signifying new beginnings and the strengthening of bonds with family, relatives and friends. It is also a time where each and every one of us will set our sights on our favourite Chinese New Year goodies.

Be it the melt-in-your-mouth Kueh Bangkit or the addictively crunchy Love Letter, nothing beats the deliciously vibrant tropical flavours of Pineapple Tarts. Revered as the quintessential must-haves at every Chinese New Year celebration, many may express differing opinions on who in town bakes the best pineapple tarts. However, many ardent fans of this traditional festive treat will agree that the one most important and basic ingredient to guarantee perfection in a pineapple tart, is the BUTTER.

If red be the colour to define Chinese New Year, it is the golden block of butter which confers the pineapple tart its status as the supreme confectionary masterpiece. For these little morsels of festive pleasure, the pastry plays a pivotal and equally crucial role as the pineapple jam. Well-seasoned bakers agree wholeheartedly that the quality of butter grants pastries the buttery crust texture which melts into perfect harmony with the tangy sweetness of the pineapple jam.

For generations, SCS earns its place in the hallowed kitchens as the trusted No.1 choice of butter brand for baking, cooking and spreading in many households1, sealing its reputation as the definitive must-have quality ingredient when it comes to creating that flawless tray of pineapple tarts and other festive treats.
Chinese New Year is more than just a time when families and friends gather to celebrate, swap tales about their past over a celebratory meal. It is also a time where family members forge a deeper connection to their ancestry, often by baking heirloom festive recipes that have been handed down from generation to generation, or by experimenting with new recipes that are sure to delight the palates. Heralding the year of the agile monkey, SCS Butter continues to be an integral part of a proud heritage of traditional festive treats, thanks to its unwavering effort in pursuing high product quality standards over its 110 years of history.

Made with passion and dedication to quality, using the same secret recipe since 1905, SCS Butter goes through a special double churn process, which gives it a rich and creamy taste that its extensive base of loyal consumers are familiar with. SCS Butter is made from 100% Australian grass-fed cows’ milk without the addition of any artificial colourings, additives, or preservatives. It is also packed with Vitamins A, D, E and K.

In baking pastries, the quality of butter is essential. It works in tandem with other ingredients to give pastries the buttery and savoury taste we all love,” says Celebrity Blogger, Fiona Lau, founder of highly-popular baking blog ‘Baking’s Corner’, as she unfolds the secret to baking scrumptious pineapple tarts to impress your family and friends this Chinese New Year.

She adds, “SCS Butter never fails to deliver on this aspect. I have trusted this brand to make my baked treats even more fragrant, flaky and delicious. When it comes to pineapple tarts, SCS Butter is and will always be my preferred choice.”
