LUNAR NEW YEAR CELEBRATIONS AT PARKROYAL ON KITCHENER ROAD


The arrival of the Year of the Rooster brings about an abundance of prosperity. PARKROYAL on Kitchener will once again be decked out in festive decorations throughout the Lunar New Year and abuzz with delightful offers as it welcomes the good year.

Key highlight of the celebration will be the appearances of God of Fortune (财神爷) on the eve of the Lunar New Year (年除夕), the first day (初一), fifth day (初五), seventh day (初七,人日), ninth day (初九) and the fifteenth day (初十五,元宵節), greeting guests with well wishes. The Hotel will also be welcoming a suite of dragon and lion dance performances on the fifth day of Lunar New Year (初五). Guests from across the globe can bask in the festivities and experience the local traditions when celebrating the significant event on the Chinese calendar.

Gather your family and friends for a reunion with the Chinese New Year buffet at Spice Brasserie or opt for tailored menu packages for private gatherings, along with a signature Yu Sheng creation from the popular Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant.

Fivefold Fortune Reunions at Spice Brasserie

Headlining the buffet menu at the Hotel’s all-day dining restaurant Spice Brasserie, will be the Fivefold Fortunes Set ( 五 福 临 门 ), created by Executive Chef Low Hoe Kiat. Each set consist of five auspicious dishes, a must for all reunions this New Year.

Kick start the celebrations by tossing to a successful new year with our Seafood Yu Sheng with Passion fruit sauce and Truffle oil. The Prosperity Pot (盆 菜) filled with Prawns, Scallop, Dried Oyster, Pork, Abalone, Fish maw, Broccolis, Mushroom signifies abundance all year round. The cream based Braised Lobster in Superior Stock is a lavish addition to the meal that is exclusive to one serving per person.

Chef Low put a twist to the set this time round and included Golden Ingot Dumplings, made with Minced Pork, juicy Baby Abalone and Chives, something that’s visually pleasing and tastefully done. Last but not least, welcome sweet beginnings with the refreshing Pumpkin Purée with Almond Flake before you prepare for the buffet spread! The buffet also features Asian delights, a sushi and sashimi corner and several ‘live’ stations cooking up a medley of Asian and Continental creations. For lunch bookings, guests can enjoy a complimentary Seafood Yu Sheng per table, while dinner bookings come with a complete feast of the Fivefold FortunesSet on us.

To be honest, it was when i saw my friend Stanley give the most touching proposal on coronation night. The prep process was pretty vigorous nearing towards the end, as there were many events to go for and practices to attend.
