D'Resort, More than Just a Resort

If you haven't heard, there are some major changes going on at Downtown East! The first phase of construction of Refreshing Downtown East project is completed and with that the first group of guests have checked into D'Resort today!

Yes, D'Resort is the newly constructed resort which used to be the previous Coasta Sands Resort. If you are an Eastie, you will probably remember the chalet outings you used to have there, with the 2-storey rooms and the BBQ pits, not forgetting Wild Wild Wet and the Escape theme park. If you enjoyed these chalet elements, do not worry because they have been specially preserved.

Can you believe that these are the 2-storey rooms that have replaced those you used to stay in previously?

First floor (Beach Duplex)
Second floor (Beach Duplex)
That's not all. BBQ pits are located right outside the rooms and they are so much bigger!

Here are some of the other rooms available:

This series of Rainforest rooms have been specially prepared for those who enjoy solace. Families can choose from different themes such as jungle, underwater or M&M's.

For those who seek to enjoy premium comfort, choose your pick from the Rainforest Executive, Rainforest Suite and the Rainforest Premier Suite.

With a total of 387 rooms, there is a room for everyone, kid or adult. There will be something that appeals to you, whether it is that M&M's theme that makes you feel like a kid again or that gorgeous suite.

The concept of the resort is to bring the outside in and inside out. What does this mean? In the rooms are photographs of Pasir Ris be it beaches or mangroves and they seek to engage the guests to explore these places. It brings Pasir Ris to the guests in that sense and a variety of activities will also be available for families to participate in to bring them out, namely nature trails and mangrove tours conducted by U Live Park ambassadors.

If you have been tempted by the photographs but the prices are a concern, you will be pleased to know that the rooms are affordable with early bird rates available 6 months in advance. Now it operates the same way budget airlines does in terms of pricing. For NTUC members, Park View chalets are exclusively available for you, together with discounted BBQ pits and parking.

Besides the expanded water park, Wild Wild Wet, there will also be enhanced Membership & Union Community Engagement (MUCE) facilities and a range of food and beverage and retail outlets in the near future, come 2017. With so much to look forward to, I am certainly excited to see what the new Downtown East will look like! I also can't wait to stay in D'Resorts, especially when the waterpark is up and running! As it is, the resort looks great and with Pasir Ris Park being in the vicinity, the place promises a whole lot to see and do.

From the auditions all the way to the Grand Finals, i knew i had to step up as prior to the audition, i let myself go quite abit because of the fact that i was juggling between work and handling my 3 children. 1) During your entire time of Mr World Singapore 2022 from the time you auditioned till you won the title, tell us - what was the most overwhelming moment for you? To be honest, it was when i saw my friend Stanley give the most touching proposal on coronation night. It really made me tear up seeing how emotional he got while on his knee 2) What was the prep process like? The prep process was pretty vigorous nearing towards the end, as there were many events to go for and practices to attend. Yes definitely, Im always nervous whenever there is a Q&A segment as im afraid I’ll freeze up on stage or not be able to give a satisfactory answer.
