In celebration of SG50, STREET 50 is launching a special Golden Jubilee all-day a la carte menu that debuts officially on 1 August 2015, putting a local spin on popular global cuisines, churning out a dizzying array of more than 50 gastronomic delights and beverages.

STREET 50 is conveniently located on street level at Bay Hotel Singapore on 50 Telok Blangah Road, the aptly-named STREET 50 Restaurant & Bar has always been popular with diners for its global flavours with a twist. And for the Singapore

And there are few people better adept at localizing famous international dishes than STREET 50’s new Executive Chef – Kay Lee Hou Keong. We heard that Chef Kay was trained under renowned Michelin Star chef Max Milleri and at Joel Robuchon. Chef Kay also spent almost two decades cooking up a storm in kitchens both local and abroad, from the coastal city of Geneva, Switzerland to the Alpine foothills of Lombardy, Italy.

“We are delighted to have Chef Kay join our dedicated culinary team. With his years of experience, we are confident that there will be no shortage of culinary delights at pocket- friendly prices for our diners to look forward to,” commented General Manager Philip Raj.

What inspired Chef Kay to attempt the challenging task of giving international dishes a local flavor?
“As a cultural melting pot, Singapore has done a fantastic job of blending different cultures into a harmonious mix, and what better way is there to celebrate Singapore’s 50th birthday and recognize our nation’s diversity, than to introduce a local twist on these international dishes?” Chef Kay shared.

Another exciting new dish on our menu is the Satay un-skewered ($19.90), which consists of a juicy Australian Lamb chop painstakingly marinated in tantalising satay spice, and topped with the perennial favourite peanut sauce.

You may have tried the local favourite satay bee hoon, but we guarantee it’s nothing like STREET 50's Satay Bay-hoon ($14.90)!

No matter how many different types of popiah you have eaten, nothing will prepare you for this unique Garoupa Popiah ($18.90). A tender and succulent garoupa is encased in the humble yet crisp popiah pastry, with this culinary juxtaposition serving only to enhance the taste of the overall dish. Italian tomatoes, balsamico, and extra virgin olive oil are just some of the ingredients which give the Garoupa Popiah its distinct taste, which you won’t be quick to forget.

Bubur Cha Cha Crème Brulee ($9.90) – a dish that manages to taste even better than it sounds.
Braised yam, sweet potato, pumpkin, and Japanese blue potato are combined with rainbow chewy, and drizzled with Okinawa black sugar and coconut pandan foam.

For all durian lovers, the durian pengat ($8.90) is definitely the dessert for you! Chef Kay have paired the iconic and saporous durian pengat with a fragrant and emerald pandan jelly to achieve a dessert that has all the familiarity of the national fruit of Singapore, mixed in with the light notes of the emerald pandan.
