Australia’s Pie Face arrived in Singapore!!!

Yes, that cute pie is actually Australia’s best pie- Pie Face!



They are too cute and definitely Insta-worthy!

Australia’s Pie Face has unveiled its very first foray into Asia with the opening of two new stores at 313@somerset and Bugis Village, Singapore.

Established in 2003, this Sydney-headquartered micro-bakery café is best known for baking all of its gourmet pies from scratch. The dough of the traditional French puff pastry takes three days to prepare. The kitchen team is required to fold the special blend of butter to create 48 layers. This crucial step is the key to producing the best pie pastry. Encased within the flaky crust are fresh ingredients, premium cuts of meat as well as other delicious fillings created by its chief pie baker.

The chef at the helm is Mr Francois Galand (previously known as Francois Cointrel), a French-born and pastry-trained chef who blended his speciality French pastry crust with the Australian comfort food. Chef Francois comes from a long line of pastry chefs; his grandfather and three of his uncles were passionate about pastries. Since young, his world has revolved around pastries and he started playing with dough at an early age.

Pie Face doles out pies in a multitude of flavours. Flavours that are available at the Singapore stores include Chunky Steak; Chicken and Mushroom; Thai Chicken Curry; and Tandoori Vegetable. These savoury pies come in both regular and mini sizes. The mini pies are priced starting from $3.00 each. Different playful facial expressions are featured on the pastry crusts, making the pies a perfect accompaniment to enliven the day. The chain serves these pies in one of two ways: in a cardboard sleeve, so customers can eat them while on the go or as "stacks" for those dining in. Stacks are pies topped with smash (mashed potatoes or peas) and gravy.

There are also eight sweet pies ($3.30), with flavours ranging from Mini Butterscotch Pie to Mini Apple Crumble Pie, to enjoy as desserts.

Pie Face’s popular mainstays include the following:

* Chunky Steak Pie ($5.20): Perhaps the crown jewel in Pie Face’s array, this pie houses chunks of beef that have been braised with onions, garlic and gravy.

* Chicken & Mushroom Pie ($4.90): Inside the golden pastry is a medley of tender chicken breast, mushroom and garlic. The rich and thick cream pulls everything together.

* Thai Chicken Curry Pie ($4.90): An Asian-inspired offering, this pie brings together chicken meat, carrots, onion, garlic and coconut milk.

* Tandoori Vegetable Pie ($4.90): This one is for the vegetable lovers. Freshly chopped carrots, capsicum and mixed beans are drenched in a moreish tandoori sauce. Carnivorous eaters will love it too!

* Mini Lemon Pie ($3.30): Glistening dome-shaped lemon custard sits on a sweet crust pastry. Orange rind caps off the pie.

* Mini Pecan Pie ($3.30): Resting on a crumbly base, the crunchy pecans are drenched in a sweet maple sauce.

* Mini Chocolate Pie ($3.30): Chocolate mousse with a crisp chocolate shell, encased in a sweet crust pastry.

At Pie Face, patrons can also savour crumbly cookies, moist cakes and piping hot soups. Other than its array of palatable pies, Pie Face also serves high-quality coffee. Enjoy fresh brews such as cappuccino, café latte, long black, mocha and macchiato here. The prices for the coffee start from $4.00.
