Last night (17 Feb 2011), Marina Bay Sands just had their Grand Opening celebration to celebrate the opening of the destination’s key lifestyle and entertainment attractions including the world’s first ArtScience Museum, the premiere of Wonder Full Light and Water Spectacular, seven celebrity chef restaurants, and the upcoming opening of the much-anticipated Broadway musical, The Lion King. The Prime Minister of Singapore, Mr. Lee Hsien Loong had also joined the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Las Vegas Sands Corp., Mr. Sheldon G. Adelson, at the Grand Opening ceremony which was scheduled to take place at the entrance of ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands at the auspicious hour of 3.18pm. Even though the event is strictly for invited guests only, members of the public were still able to join in the celebrations and witness the event from the Helix Bridge along Bayfront Avenue.
