The band started with just Alvin and Sara, who jammed together in the dusty attic of a shop along Haji Lane, the unit number of which became the inspiration for the band’s name – 53A. The duo went on to perform together in the ‘live’ music scene for nearly six years before roping in friends Hidir and Irwan to complete their line-up, when the offer to play regularly at Timbre came up.
