The launch of HYSSES, a new milestone for homegrown Aromatherapy brand

Looking back at August, the month of our Nation’s birthday, were you like me? Living in the celebratory spirit and feeling exceptionally proud to be a Singaporean? There’s just one more noteworthy event last month that made me feel this sense of pride, and that is – the launch of the new brand, HYSSES.

That’s right! The homegrown aromatherapy brand, Mt. Sapola has rebranded itself as HYSSES to take on new global markets. With a 10-year long heritage, Mt. Sapola moved from one store in Tanglin Mall to 14 boutiques nation-wide and a specialised laboratory with its own manufacturing arm, Barn & Potter, to fulfill consumer’s relentless demand for variety and new products. Today, it has been rebranded as HYSSES, introducing a new corporate logo, website and brand identity.

At the media launch fittingly held at Gardens by the Bay, we got our hands on the variety of HYSSES products, such as essential oils, Chakras series, Remedies series, oil burners, body, hair and skin care series. The highlight of all these, we got to mix the essential oils and created our own scent!

There’s so much these divinely aromatic essential oils could offer besides its fragrance. They can be used as it is, as a massage lotion, room spray or body wash. Each natural ingredient/scent provides different benefits. For instance, the exclusive Bergamot essential oil is good for skin brightening and scar-removal, while lavender promotes hair growth, wound-healing, and relaxation. At HYSSES, only the best quality ingredients are sourced from exotic origins in the East and West of the world, handpicked from native sources where they thrive under naturally optimum environments.

HYSSES product is consciously designed to honour its quality as much as it pays tribute to Nature’s generosity. In the coming months, customers will start to see more plant-based facial skin care releases to cater to different skin types and needs.

It is no surprise that a brand as dedicated as Mt. Sapola is growing exponentially and expanding beyond this region. The boutiques in Singapore and Malaysia have started to undergo physical renovations. The full transformation is expected to be completed by the end of quarter 3 in 2017. HYSSES will also be making its debut in London in year 2018. Other prominent cities in the pipeline include Sydney and gateway cities in Asia Pacific regions.

We were privileged to witness this eventful launch while indulging in delightfully-crafted dishes by Pollen.

“Rebranding to HYSSES is a big step in the right direction for our loyal customers as well as potential ones at home and overseas,” said Cheryl Gan, founder and managing direction for HYSSES, Singapore.

From the auditions all the way to the Grand Finals, i knew i had to step up as prior to the audition, i let myself go quite abit because of the fact that i was juggling between work and handling my 3 children. But i guess after the audition. i made a clear intent to give 100% to get ready for the grand finals and since then, i made more conscious de...

To be honest, it was when i saw my friend Stanley give the most touching proposal on coronation night. The prep process was pretty vigorous nearing towards the end, as there were many events to go for and practices to attend. Yes definitely, Im always nervous whenever there is a Q&A segment as im afraid I’ll freeze up on stage or not be able to give a satisfactory answer.
