Review on"Star Trek" the movie

Thank to omy for giving out 30 pairs of tickets to the preview screening of Star Trek, the movie (www.startrekmovie.com) - even before it hits the cinemas on 8th May 2009!

OMY contacted me and invited me to go for this movie and I supposed to write a review after the show.

So here is mine!

Went there a bit early today and the queue was still quite okay...

Collected my 2 tickets!

Star Trek (2009)

The greatest adventure of all time begins with “Star Trek,” the incredible story of a young crew’s maiden voyage onboard the most advanced starship ever created: the U.S.S. Enterprise. In the midst of an incredible journey full of optimism, intrigue, comedy and cosmic peril, the new recruits must find a way to stop an evil being whose mission of vengeance threatens all of mankind.

The fate of the galaxy rests in the hands of bitter rivals born worlds apart. One, James Tiberius Kirk (Chris Pine), a delinquent, thrill-seeking Iowa farm boy, a natural-born leader in search of a cause. The other, Spock (Zachary Quinto), grows up on the planet Vulcan, an outcast due to his half-human background, which makes him susceptible to the volatile emotions that Vulcans have long lived without, and yet an ingenious, determined student, who will become the first of his kind accepted into the Starfleet Academy.

Kirk and Spock could not be more different. Yet, in their quest to figure out who they really are and what they have to give to the world, they soon become competitive cadets-in-training. With their drastically opposite styles, one driven by fiery passion, the other by rigorous logic, they also become defiant, contentious adversaries, each equally unimpressed with the other, each going all out to be among the special few chosen to join the crew of the most advanced starship ever created, the U.S.S. The crew is headed by Captain Christopher Pike (Bruce Greenwood). Joining him are the ship’s Medical Officer Leonard “Bones” McCoy (Karl Urban); the man who will become the ship’s Chief Engineer, Montgomery “Scotty” Scott (Simon Pegg); Communications Officer Uhura (Zoë Saldana); experienced Helmsman Sulu (John Cho); and the 17-year-old whiz kid Chekov (Anton Yelchin). All will face a harrowing first test that will set in motion the loyalty, camaraderie, daring and good humor that will bind them forever.

I would rate this movie a 7/10.
The fighting part was exciting and I enjoyed watching that.

Dinning at Carousel (Royal Plaza on Scotts Hotel)

It was a wonderful Tuesday which had just passed.

That day after work went with Jasmine to Royal Plaza on Scotts Hotel, Carousel for a dinner...
See below why we are there for dinner...

It was actually a prize we won for a Valentine's Day Contest...

This prize included a night staying in one of the deluxe room of Royal Plaza on Scotts Hotel which we had not use yet. (Read here to find out detail of the contest)

Nice foods there... and sure put on weight after eating lor....

One thing people like Buffet because can eat a lot of food.

And when you pay them, you sure want to make your money worth and will tend to eat more than usual...

But in another hand, some may worry putting on weight if eat too much...

So I think this people like me should not take buffet... Haha...

Oh when we are there, we asked for some tissue from the waitress and was given this super high quality tissue paper and I told Jasmine this is not a normal tissue paper....


It is a Multi-purpose high quality tissue paper

The RZIM conference at Malacca

While I am on my way to Malacca in the bus, I saw this signboard written "Jasmine"...

I quickly took out my camera and snapped this shot for you to see Dear....

It was a long 4 hours plus journey... very hungry....
and we finally reach our Hotel...

After checking in, we straight away went for our lunch
Chicken Rice Ball (A must eat if you are there)

So 4 of us ordered one whole chicken and shared...
I had two plate of rice balls, which is like 10 balls (Fishball size).

Took a lot of picture of the hotel surrounding to share with you all...
The hotel may seem small from outside...
But it really quite big inside....
I like the design of the hotel...
Very beautiful...

Those black thing u seen on top the ceiling are not dirt or anything else...
It's actually sparrow with bird nest...
The expensive "Yan Wo" lor.... OMG....
How come in the hotel will have such thing!!!
So unusual....

Every morning, 4 of us wake up at 8am and
went for breakfast at 8.30am...
Nice breakfast eating area....

After breakfast, go for workshop in a nice room...
The presenters were all very good!

2nd day, we went to the central for our A & W in a taxi...
Terry said he don't know what is A & W and had never eat before...
Guess when he was born, the A & W in Singapore already closed...

He was lucky, he even get to see the A&W Bear when we were there...So we had curly fries, root beer float drinks,
Hotdog bun and also the chicken wings....

When in the taxi passing by the red church,
I managed to snap this picture...

So this is how Jonker Walk came about...

When we were there shopping, we came across this stall...

I find it quite nice too...

Finally going back home...
During the journey,
me and Tommy want to stop for toilet so much
and we prayed the bus to stop..

Lucky our prayer was heard and the bus stopped at this place
for us to go for toilet... Haha
I would said this is a very intensive bible study
and the presenters are all very good!

It was a 3 day 2 night well spent for!
