Singapore has First H1N1, Swine Flu Case (27 May 2009)

So the H1N1 virus had spread to Singapore!

A 22-year-old Singaporean woman who was in New York from May 14-24, is down with the swine flu. This is Singapore's first reported case.

The patient arrived back in Singapore from New York on SQ25 on 26 May at 6.30am. While on the flight, she had developed a cough, but as she had no fever, she passed thru the airport scanners uneventfully. Later that same morning she visited her GP, who sent her to Tan Tock Seng Hospital due to her travel history.

She is currently being treated at the Communicable Disease Centre at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and is in stable condition.

Passengers who had travelled in the same flight and were seated in rows 52 to 58 are urged to call the hotline at 1800-333 9999 to enable the MOH to check on their health condition.

Suddenly know the goodness of circle line!

Just realised that the Circle Line will benefit me and maybe you all too!

Next time if I go Queentown can take this line liao. (Bishan to Buona Vista interchange)

Or even go Tampines can also take this line too! (Bishan to Paya Lebar interchange)

Bet that would save a lot of time having to go to City Hall interchange!

Me and Jasmine attended the Peranakan Ball

The plot begins within the richest household in town, where Chor Chor Tan yearns to find an ideal lifetime partner for her beloved grandson Philip Tan (played by Dai Yang Tian).

With that, she decides to hold a ball and seeks the help of Yue Niang (played by Xiang yun) to help out with the preparation. Yue Niang empathizes with Bee Tin (played by Jeanette Aw), who is the maid of the household.

The moment she meets her, she feels an affinity with Bee Tin as she reminds her of her young self. She then imparts her fine culinary skills to Bee Tin, hoping to help her gain attention of Philip at the ball.

In the play, Dai acts as a Baba, differing greatly from his Japanese character in the drama serial. With that, Dai is like playing the role of with Pierre Png, who acted as a Baba in Little Nyonya.

Besides Aw, Dai and Xiang who acted in the drama serial, the rest of the cast includes Ann Kok, Chen Tai Ming, Ben Yeo, Huang Jiong Yao and Yang Jia Ying. Singer of Little Nyonya theme song, Olivia Ong is also invited to present the song live during the play.

And not forget to mention this three "actress" who made the play very funny with their drag performance. They are Chen Tai Ming, Huang Jiong Yao and Ben Yeo.

The stage

I would said is quite a wonderful performance cause it not easy for a lot of them who have no experience on stage play like this...

And most importantly it satisfy a lot of us to see Dai with Jennette together in the play as a happy ending....

I would said this play is like a Peranakan Cinderella story!

The song sang "Ru Yan" by Olivia kept repeating in my mind...

I love the song!

Today like to share some photo taken during our Jurong Bird Park outing when I was maybe 10 year old or younger!

Would like to go to the bird park again with my family after 15 over years never go there again...

I know that most of us when grew up have lesser time spending with family. But I think that shouldn't be the case and everyone should plan and spend sometime going out with family.

I really hope get back those sweet old memories again... So looking forward for that day...

Happy Mother's Day to all Mums! Stay young and pretty!

Like everyone else who think they have the best mum in the world. I have one who is not only the best but also a super mum!

Every morning, my mum will wake up very early and prepare breakfast for the family before going for her part time office cleaner job. Due to that, she slept less than 5 hours a day.

In the afternoon, she will come home and manage all the housework and prepare meals for the family. I would say she has never failed to be a good worker at her workplace and a good housewife at home. On top of all this, I have never heard her complaining of anything in her life before. She was very independent women who always do her best in everything. That was the attitude I really admired her.

Since I was young, my mum has always been a very thrifty woman unlike most women who loves shopping and not cook at home. My mum rather save all those money and spend on her children and make sure they have the best of everything. Even though my family doesn’t always go out and eat together, I can assure you that we always gathered together at our dinning table with my mum's delicious home-cooked food. And my mum's Nasi Lemak is the best!

My mum is also a very strict mum who disciplines her children with caning. I still remember there was one unforgettable incident whereby I hided and locked myself in the toilet when I was being canned for not doing my school’s homework. But I had never blamed her for canning me because her way of disciplining had brought me to the correct path and make what I am now.

“Mum, you had brought me this far and I’m now working as a marketing executive with stable income and I will definitely work hard and give you a better living life.”

“Mum, I also like to say thank you for always taking care and loving me unconditionally for the past 26 years. I am sorry if I had made you angry sometime and I definitely didn’t mean it as it’s hurt me when I see you angry or sad too. I really appreciate all the things that you had done for me and being there for me always. ”

Swine Flu caused my HK trip to be cancelled

Supposed to be in HK today. But due to the Swine Flu, most of my friend decided not to go. But I would say HK is safe now, this is what I feel la...

Nevertheless, Samuel and Tricia still went and I felt sorry not being able to accompany them. Should be 9 of us going but end up left 2 of them... Is pretty sad I know....

But I still want to wish them have fun there and hope they take care of themselves there!

Guys, let plan something soon again k! Don't get disturb by that Swine Flu!

That day we had our lunch in the hotel with my mum cooked soup!

The next day we woke up about 7am and wash up and went for our breakfast!
