Snatch thieves should know better than to be stealing “smart” phones these days.

According to Channel NewsAsia (CNA), a serial snatch thief who stole a 36-year-old woman’s iPhone last Sunday morning along Lim Liak Street in Tiong Bahru didn’t get very far — all thanks to an iPhone application called "Find My iPhone".

The iPhone application, which can be downloaded for free via Apple’s iTunes, helped tracked police track down the missing phone via a map.

It led to the arrest of an18-year-old Malaysian man, who was arrested along Outram Road on Monday.

He is believed to be accountable for other snatch theft cases in the Tiong Bahru and Kim Tian estates.
