Congrats to Champion- We Want to Go to USA from Ahmad Ibraahim Secondary School (C08)

The NE.mation Award ceremony was held on Total Defence Day, 15th Feb at The Republic Cultural Centre (TRCC), Republic Polytechnic (RP).

N.E.mation! is a digital animation competition organised by Nexus for youths to express their thoughts on Total Defence. Into its seventh season this year, the competition has proven highly successful, with more than 7,500 students participating since its inception in 2007. With training and guidance, students with no prior experience in animation have been able to produce clips of broadcast quality to screen on free-to-air television. Some of these clips were even selected for international animation festivals and won several awards.

This year, students are asked to use their creativity to produce storylines centred on the theme of “Together We Overcome”.

This year we had also seen a lot of great clips from the students!!!

JUDGING CRITERIA
The winners of the competition will be determined by a combination of public voting (50%) and judging (50%) by a panel comprising industry professionals.

The judging criterion is based on the following:

Creativity and Content – 35%
Entertainment Value – 25%
Animation Skills – 20%
Aesthetics – 20%

Minister for Defence  Dr Ng Eng Hen was the Guest of Honor that day.

INTERVIEW WITH MR WORLD SINGAPORE 2022 (SENIOR): S3 UMAR ABDUL HAMID

 1) During your entire time of Mr World Singapore 2022 from the time you auditioned till you won the title, tell us - what was the most overwhelming moment for you? Personally, as the grand final day drew nearer, and diet and water had to be stricter, it was hard trying to keep up with the nutrition portion as well as the rest and recovery portion. Aside from that, i was starting to feel a little more anxious that i should and a huge part of it was because i invited my mother to be part of the audience and i wanted the event to be memorable for her. But i guess everything was worth it in the end.  2) What was the prep process like? From the auditions all the way to the Grand Finals, i knew i had to step up as prior to the audition, i let myself go quite abit because of the fact that i was juggling between work and handling my 3 children. But i guess after the audition. i made a clear intent to give 100% to get ready for the grand finals and since then, i made more conscious de...

My Honest Review of the LUMOS Tablet — Budget-Friendly, Surprisingly Capable

I’ve always had a soft spot for discovering local tech gems — and that’s how I stumbled onto the LUMOS Tablet. You probably know LUMOS for their projectors, but they’ve recently launched a tablet that caught my attention. Spoiler: For the price, it actually delivers. Here’s my personal take after using it for a couple of weeks — plus the specs you’ll want to know. ⸻ First Impressions Unboxing the LUMOS Tablet felt like a good start. It has a 10.1-inch Full HD IPS Display (1920 x 1200), which immediately stood out — bright, clear, and vibrant enough for Netflix marathons or YouTube spirals. The tablet weighs around 500g and has a sleek, modern design that doesn’t feel cheap at all. It’s light enough to toss in your tote or backpack without feeling like you’re carrying a brick. ⸻ Under the Hood – Technical Specs Here’s a quick look at what powers this tablet: • Processor: Octa-Core 2.0GHz • RAM: 4GB • Storage: 64GB (expandable up to 256GB via MicroSD) • Operating System: ...
