Boo to water polo boys’ swimming trunks?



Recently the swimming trunks with Singapore flag on it which was worn by our Singapore's water polo boys at the Asian Games was complained by public for disrespectful.

Some comment on STOMP by Edwald01:
"I used to be proud of them ( Our National polo team ) but now I was shamed by them. Doesn't the designer knows the importance of a national flag ? Why would ppl die for the flag in war ? Cos it represents not only your country or your personality and dignity as well. To place it at your groin area, it is jus like placing your forefathers pics at the groin area ? Conservative ? Think again ... Creative over our dignity ? Does it mean you will forgo your pride as a Singaporean over creativity ? For me, though I dun like some policies but I would lay my life for our national flag lightly."

The design of the swimming trunks has been ruled 'inappropriate' by the government. The team did not seek official advice or approval for the design.

The team, however, will still get to wear the trunks for at least one more match, as competition rules require the players to wear one colour of trunks throughout the competition.

So you think the trunk design is that bad???

    I love the design of the trunks and there is no implication related to the flag being on the groin area. Perhaps the penis is the fountain of life and therefore this is an excellent place for the flag - on the pole :-)
