Sony Style TV Magazine Season 5- Oli Pettigrew is Back

Do you all know?
Sexy technophile Oli Pettigrew is back for Season 5 of Sony Style TV Magazine (Sony Style)! Last season saw Oli traverse the globe to unearth the latest lifestyle trends and happenings. This season brings you more exclusive previews of the snazziest Sony gadgets and there’s a new segment - a 30-second tech nugget that gives more geek tidbits on the featured product of the week.

For the first time, Sony Style will be aired in two parts – the first in May this year and the second in the second half of the year. To spice things up, Oli will announce his search for a co-host and those interested in having a shot at fame in the second half of the series can submit their applications online. Viewers can also outrace each other in a foursquare contest to check in at Sony stores across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines, and stand to win attractive prizes!

That’s not all, for fans will be able to celebrate the 100th milestone episode this season with Sony Style, as they say, in style. A special group of fans will be picked to get up close and personal with Oli at a cosy birthday gathering; while others will be able to send in their well wishes and get them aired on the show.

From electronics and extreme sports to venturing into areas unknown, Oli is gung-ho enough to try them all! This season, he lives out every hot-blooded male’s dream when he takes a ride on a Harley Davidson, hangs out with fellow riders at Handlebar and even witnesses first hand how the bike is customized.

As the life of the party, Oli has the hippest hangouts at his fingertips. Join him as he checks out the latest nightspots with cocktail in hand or as he mingles with elephants at an exclusive 25-room boutique resort. One of the perks of a presenter’s job is getting to schmooze with a long line of celebrities, such as Irish pop rock band The Script, British synthpop duo Hurts and American singersongwriter Sara Baraeilles. Watch as Oli cheekily slips in an intimate question or two!

Sony Style is as much about exotic locations as it is nifty devices. This season, Oli visits the picturesque island of Bali where he soaks in some indigenous culture. He tries his hand at traditional Balinese dance and attempts to master the craft from renowned glass artist Ron Seiverston. Being the daredevil he is, Oli enjoys taking in natural beauty in an adventurous way. Watch the model and actor strip down to his surfer shorts and hit the surf at Kuta Beach and later take on white water rafting on the Ayung River. Proving he is as comfortable behind a camera as he is in front of it, Oli seizes the moment to capture the arresting sunset at the majestic Tanah Lot temple with his handycam projector.

Having become more eco-friendly, Oli makes it a point to drop in on the bamboo-built Green School that teaches students from an early age the importance of being green-minded by getting them to grow their own vegetables for school meals!

Jack Lim, Vice President of Advertising Sales and Marketing, SPE Networks – Asia says, “Viewers love seeing Oli on Sony Style. His gift of the gab, sense of fun and the show’s high production quality are key to its popularity in Asia. No surprise then that we have brought Sony Style back for the fifth time.”

Adds Narihiko Uemura, Managing Director of Sony Electronic Asia Pacific & Sony Electronics (Singapore), “Entering its brand new fifth season, Sony Style will take you through Sony’s world of entertainment, with the many new and dazzling networked products, content and services, as well as innovative, future-focused technologies. Keep tuning in and watch with excitement what we have lined up just for you!”

Whether you are a tech aficionado, sports fan or avid traveller, Sony Style coming to AXN this May has something for everybody!

INTERVIEW WITH MR WORLD SINGAPORE 2022 (SENIOR): S3 UMAR ABDUL HAMID

 1) During your entire time of Mr World Singapore 2022 from the time you auditioned till you won the title, tell us - what was the most overwhelming moment for you? Personally, as the grand final day drew nearer, and diet and water had to be stricter, it was hard trying to keep up with the nutrition portion as well as the rest and recovery portion. Aside from that, i was starting to feel a little more anxious that i should and a huge part of it was because i invited my mother to be part of the audience and i wanted the event to be memorable for her. But i guess everything was worth it in the end.  2) What was the prep process like? From the auditions all the way to the Grand Finals, i knew i had to step up as prior to the audition, i let myself go quite abit because of the fact that i was juggling between work and handling my 3 children. But i guess after the audition. i made a clear intent to give 100% to get ready for the grand finals and since then, i made more conscious de...

1) During your entire time of Mr World Singapore 2022 from the time you auditioned till you won the title, tell us - what was the most overwhelming moment for you? To be honest, it was when i saw my friend Stanley give the most touching proposal on coronation night. It really made me tear up seeing how emotional he got while on his knee 2) What was the prep process like? The prep process was pretty vigorous nearing towards the end, as there were many events to go for and practices to attend. Though vigorous, I felt that they were all enjoyable with the class of 2022 around. 3) Are there any nervous moments and stress factors during the competition and how did you deal with it? Yes definitely, Im always nervous whenever there is a Q&A segment as im afraid I’ll freeze up on stage or not be able to give a satisfactory answer. I guess how I dealt with it was to just let down my shoulders and enjoy the moment. Being relaxed and just being myself because that’s what people want to see! 4...
