1 Day Getaway to Desaru & Kota Tinggi

Last Sunday (8 May 2011), my friend and I went for a day trip to Desaru and Kota Tinggi.It was my 1st time going there and I was very excited the night before. I was looking forward for the Desaru Beach as I love the sun, blue sea, white sand and the cloudy sky.

The higlights of this trip:
- Desaru Beach
- Seafood Lunch
- Crocodile Farm Visit
- Getting wet at Kota Tinggi Waterfall
- Watch fireflies along the river


We had breakfast somewhere Johor if I not wrong.
It was Dim Sum Feast!

So cool! I ordered a Char Siew filing & a Chicken filling to share with my table.



See these are the few Dim Sum we tried! Plus that Big Big Pau with chicken meat inside! It is really huge and you can't find them in Singapore. It is about twice the size of Singapore Big Pau.


After breakfast, we headed for Desaru and took many photo at the beach! Though the water is not crystal clear type, we had fun taking camwhoring!



After the beach, we walked over for the Go Kart Driving! Each of us pay RM$10 for a 15minutes session.
Did you notice something? Ya I was quite silly to put on that hat while driving. My hat flew off while I was driving halfway... haha...

Lunch Time!!! We fed ourselves really well!

We reached the Crocodile Farm!!!


Wow!!! We spotted a No-tail Crocodile! So interesting!

He must be HUNGRY from the way he is looking at ME!!! OMG!!!






Look what we are carrying on our hands?
Yes it is a baby crocodile!!! You dare to touch them?




Finally we reached the Kota Tinggi Waterfall!!! YEAH!!!
Counted ourselves lucky! We nearly missed this spot due to time delayed!
When we reached the place around 6pm, the place was closed and most of the people are leaving the place already. We did something quite adventurous....
YES, we sneaked in with no one stopping us!
We didn't want to waste much time and so we quickly gathered ourselves in group and took our precious group photo in front of the waterfall! I'm glad we still managed to take many photo there before the sky get darker and darker.
Since there was no one stopping us, me and Edison decided to take another chance which is to go down the water since we had already came all the way here from Singapore.

I also asked Calvin and pulled Mint in for this GET WET FUN at the waterfall!
It's was really an unforgettable experience!!! We had fun playing with the water!


Of cause while we are getting down, we also need to be careful of the rocks and stones in the water. It was quite a challenge to climb down and climb up as the sky get darker and we had no torchlight with us too. But we hold hands and go through all this together... and we made it down and up together safely.
Now we come to the last MUST VISIT spot! Yes we are going to take the boat to watch fireflies!


We were really LUCKY! We saw many many fireflies along the river. And what is more fascinating was a few fireflies actually flew in and some of us managed to catch it in our hands! It was my 1st time seeing them and I was overwhelmed by it.
So COOL! I did had a closer look at the firefly. I wanted to snap some more clearer photo but I couldn't get any. The one you saw above was the best I could get.

We ended that day with another yummy seafood dinner!

It was sure an unforgettable trip with everyone.
I'm happy to make new friends and had this wonderful experience with them.

Too bad our trip does not have any beautiful white sandy beach, free flow beer, free accommodation, beach bbq, beach DJ party or beach camp fire dance...
