POV: Norowareta firumu' is the latest horror jaunt from Japanese director Norio Tsuruta ('Premonition').
The film stars Mirai Shida and Haruna Kawaguchi as high school girls who begin to experience eerie events after they start filming a program about psychic phenomenons.The story begins to unfold during a taping for a TV show about spiritual phenomena, when an unplanned video begins playing on the monitors.
The movie may look a bit like “The Blair Witch Project”, “Paranormal Activity” and “REC” but it is not. I should not talk more now, you should watch it yourself. When you think the movie ended, there is more actually so you ave to stay really till the end.
Cast & Crew
Mirai Shida (as herself):
Debuted in a starring role in the television series “Jyu yonsai no haha”, she has been casted as key roles in succeeding film as “Nobody to Watch over Me” and television series as “Himitsu” and “Hanma sesshion”. Most noted actress of her generation.
Haruna Kawaguchi (as herself):
Debuting as a teen magazine model and developing her skills to allow her appearance on TV commercials and programs such as “Tokyo Dogs” and “Nakanai to kimeta hi”, she became the industry’s most watched newcomer.
Norio Tsuruta (Screenwriter and director):
Born in 1960, he started making films in college. His debut film “Scary True Stories” was a smash hit in Japan prompting the concept to be made into a TV series in 1999 which still continues to air new episodes today. His films proved a major influence on its genre in Japan and directors Hideo Nakata, Kiyoshi Kurosawa, and Takashi Shimizu applied his methods to create “Ringu”, “Pulse” and “Ju-on / The Grudge”. The final title of the “Ringu” franchise, “Ringu 0: Birthday” was directed by Tsuruta, who continued to lead the horror genre with his “Premonition (2004)” and “Orochi (2008)”. Also, in 2007 he expanded his works overseas to direct “Dream Cruise” an episode from “Masters of Horror” in the United States.
