"Are you our next cover model" Winners Crowned at 313@somerset‏

SINGAPORE. October 7, 2012 – In conjunction with Fall/Winter Fashion Campaign, the grand finals of the “Are You Our Next Cover Model” contest was held in 313@somerset, Level 1 Atrium on 7 October 2012.

The contest attracted over 400 participants during the month-long search through email entry, Facebook digital entry form and street hunt where live “mannequins” were planted at 313@somerset and along Orchard Road to spot and select males and females with cover model qualities.

The 12 finalists, ranging from 18 to 28 years old, were selected. Vaune Phan, 25 years old, loves the thrill of skydiving and through this search wanted to soar to greater heights by appearing as a cover model. Ryan Haryadi, 27 years old, meanwhile is a researcher in A*Star who had always worked on the sidelines and had always wanted a shot at being in the limelight.

The other finalists were Nicole Tan, 21 years old. She is a sports buff who enjoys running, swimming and cycling. Joining this search turned her into a girly-girl who had to practice walking in high heels as a preparation for the runway finals. Tan Wei Nian, 24 years old, on the other hand, is on his final year as a Marketing student at National University of Singapore and had never experienced participating in a big scale contest such as this one apart from school pageants he had joined.
The rest of the finalists were Czarina Angelie Yeo, 23 years old, Jaclyn Ng, 26 years old, Athalie Toh, 21 years old, Elfiana Ismail, 21 years old, Shahril Mohamed, 22 years old, Nathanael Woodburn, 18 years old, Tan Wei Nian, 24 years old, Scott Tay Wei Kiat, 20 years old, and Abdul Rahim, 23 years old.

All finalists received complimentary fashion consultation with renowned fashion stylist Jumius Wong and taught them how to walk and pose on stage.

At the runway finals, the contestants decked in the latest fall fashion pieces from 313’s retail shops, strut their stuff on the glitzy runway and brilliantly tackled the questions posted to them by emcee, Maddy Barber from Kiss 92FM. Contestants were judged on their poise and confidence (20 points), smile and eye contact (20 points), X-factor (20 points) and whether they personify the mall’s positioning (20 points). 313’s Facebook fans also played a part in selecting the winners where they got to vote for their favourites between September 26 to October 6.

The two winners, Nicole Tan and Scott Tay Wei Kiat, aside from getting a cover page model contract for a leading lifestyle magazine, walked away with $1,000 worth of 313 vouchers, a $200 worth of Pro Trim gift hamper, a $200 worth of Auramatherapy hamper and $100 Winter Time vouchers. Each of 10 consolation prize winners received $100 worth of 313 vouchers and $50 worth of Winter Time vouchers.

“We’re delighted to have Nicole and Scott to be the faces of 313@somerset. They are trendy and have vibrant personalities, and they certainly personify the 313 brand which is all about being on-trend, hip and happening,” says Amy Lim, General Manager of 313@somerset.

‘Bid Me a Cover Look’
In conjunction with the Cover Model Search, 313@somerset also organized a ‘Bid me a Cover Look’ fashion auction which was held at 313’s Level 1 Atrium on September 29 and 30. During these two days, shoppers got a chance to pick out runway-ready outfits from six “live” mannequins – starting bids of each item per outfit were at 50% off the original price. The “live” mannequins were donned in outfits from the latest collection from each of the various retail stores at 313 such as Forever 21, Aldo, Esprit, Forray Menswear and many more.

 1) During your entire time of Mr World Singapore 2022 from the time you auditioned till you won the title, tell us - what was the most overwhelming moment for you? From the auditions all the way to the Grand Finals, i knew i had to step up as prior to the audition, i let myself go quite abit because of the fact that i was juggling between work and handling my 3 children.
