Nightingale Nursing Home Abuse Elderly Video


In this photo above, you see two staff carrying an old lady and throwing her onto her bed. That was not the only thing they did to her. If you seen the news recently, she was left naked unattended for more than 30 minutes with the room ceiling fans on and also slapped on the face.

I seriously wonder what did the old lady did to deserve such treatment. These people are just so inhuman! I don't care what is their race or where they came from, this is just NOT RIGHT to treat a harmless old lady!!! How can hospital have staff like them? I'm sure RETRIBUTIONS will falls on the two staffs.

This incident happened at Nightingale Nursing Home along Braddell Road and was videoed down and was sent to local broadcaster Mediacorp. The nursing home has also been suspended with effect from 12 April from admitting new patients.

The footage was shot by a hidden camera on a patient's bedside. In the video, you can see the elderly woman patient sitting naked beside a bed with the ceiling fans on.

She was then picked up by two hospital staffs and thrown onto a bed, before a staff is shown slapping her on her mouth when she wailed in pain. The old lady was said to have stayed there for 4 years. You can imagine this was what she faced everyday. Hope the rest of the patients there do not get such treatment too. Really sad...

According to Channel NewsAsia, the nursing home has disciplined the staff involved in the mistreatment case. The home also added that they've introduced additional measures such as checking the conduct of its staff and getting their senior staff to do the rounds.

The elderly woman's son was upset with the incident. He said, "We sent her there for the nurses to take care of her; we're disappointed with what happened."

The elderly woman has been moved to another nursing home.

    I felt these 2 nurses should be punished cannot only give them warning. One of the punishment should be stripping them in public for 1 hour and let them have a taste of their own medicine. If the victim is an introvert, she might commit suicide because being strip at her age is really kind of great insult.
