Chengdu Pambassador press conference and Pandamaze

Recently attended Chengdu Pambassador press conference and PandaMaze.

UK star Cher Lloyd, American singer/songwriter Juliet Simms, and Singapore designer Kenny Lim of DEPRESSION joined the manager of Chengdu Panda Base, Li Mingxi, and the Chief Representative of WildAid China, May Mei, at the Chengdu Pambassador 2012 press conference.

The conference was held to mark the Chengdu Pambassador 2012 regional semi-finals, which kicked off today in Singapore. Twenty- four dedicated panda lovers and conservationists from all around Asia-Pacific will be competing over the next three days in their quest to become a Chengdu Pambassador.

“I’m so excited to be part of this,” Juliet Simms said. “I’ve always loved pandas and I really believe that we as artistes should spread the right influence. Rock and roll can truly change the world.”

Cher Lloyd talked about how artistes can help galvanize their fans to support certain causes. “Younger generations may not be aware of what is happening to endangered species like pandas,” she said. "It's important to get the message out to them before it's too late."

“I’ve always wanted to be part of a meaningful cause like this,” said Kenny Lim. “Fashion is often misunderstood to be an ugly industry, but this is such a great way to use fashion to  to connect to the wider audience and influence change.”

Following the press conference, the media witnessed the induction of the Pandamaze, a key highlight of the Chengdu Pambassador 2012 events in Singapore. The bamboo forest-themed outdoor exhibition on Clifford Pier invites members of the public to test their panda knowledge by answering a series of questions. Correct answers lead to the right path through the maze.
