Sharing a little joy with SilkAir Studio Wireless In-Flight Entertainment System
Disguised as a box of chocolates, the packs, once opened, were revealed to be innovative, portable in-flight entertainment screens that held engaging content like travel programmes, kids shows and TV comedies.
The travellers brought the Joy Packs on their flight, allowing them the chance to enjoy a little of the joy that SilkAir offers its customers on a regular basis. Through the activation, SilkAir was able to reach out to consumers and showcase that when it comes to air travel, the little joys matter.

The Joy Pack was a device created solely for the activation event to showcase one of the many offerings that SilkAir offers as part of its flight experience – wireless entertainment. On SilkAir flights, passengers would not be receiving the Joy Pack, however they are able to access SilkAir Studio, a wireless entertainment system that allows them to reach a library of content on their own smart devices. Business-class passengers on flights above two hours can also request for tablets to use for the duration of the flight. This activation was created as part of SilkAir’s #LittleJoysMatter campaign which brings to life how SilkAir believes in providing all the services you need for an enjoyable journey. These little joys don’t just include the SilkAir Studio, but also services such as:

About SilkAir Studio
The regional wing of Singapore Airlines, has launched its new wireless in-flight entertainment (IFE) system, SilkAir Studio in 2014. Complementing the existing overhead system, this wireless service provides customers with diverse options for a more customised in-flight entertainment experience. Passengers on SilkAir flights will be able to stream blockbuster hits, short features, as well as chart-topping music to their personal laptops and handheld devices throughout their flights via Wi-Fi directly at no additional cost.
With SilkAir Studio, customers do not need to download a separate mobile app prior to boarding. Once the inflight entertainment system is switched on, customers can enjoy the new programmes on their personal mobile devices, such as laptops, smartphones, and tablets. All these will be provided on a complimentary basis. For flights above two hours, tablets will be offered to Business Class customers.
This effort to improve the in-flight entertainment experience for customers is the latest example of SilkAir’s commitment to quality, full-service air travel. It comes alongside service mainstays such as in-flight meals, 30kg (economy) and 40kg (business) baggage allowance, through check-in service, seat selection, and the KrisFlyer frequent flyer programme.
A wide variety of entertainment options will be offered: up to 20 Hollywood and international movies, 43 TV features as well as 100 chart-topping music albums, all refreshed on a regular basis to ensure there is always something new for frequent flyers.
To log into SilkAir’s wireless inflight entertainment system, passengers should ensure that their devices are equipped with the operating system and minimum browser version.
