One Raffles Place Shopping Mall launches the first ever Great Green Sale

Last Sunday, I attended the Terrarium Workshop at One Raffles Place. I had a great time making my own Terrarium and learning the tips on how to take care of Terrarium plants from Ecoponics.

One Raffles Place Shopping Mall launches the first ever Great Green Sale launched by One Raffles Place Shopping Mall to encourage people to shop with a spirit of environmental awareness.

In our bustling island city-state of manicured gardens and temperature-controlled buildings, it is only the searing heat that reminds us of the climate change severely affecting the world. Every little bit counts from saving water to stretching resources, so by paying attention to what we buy and how we use it, we can make a difference.

With the theme, Find your Eco-style, ORP will introduce exciting eco-friendly workshops and exhibitions designed to inspire shoppers to make a stand for the environment. ORP is partnering local artist and tenants to come up with specially curated activities for shoppers.

The eco fashion pop-up exhibition is the first of its kind and is a collaboration between ORP and local eco-sculptor, Bartholomew Ting. Shoppers can also indulge their creative fancies at craft workshops to suit their interests.

As part of the find your eco-style movement to promote eco-consciousness, One Raffles Place organized hands-on workshops to promote indoor gardening and wardrobe recycling.

Shoppers can choose either Terrarium Potting Workshop or How to make a T-shirt Scarf Workshop. Simply spend at least $280 for an opportunity to join a complimentary class on Saturdays. Registration will be at the Information Counter at Level 4.

The next workshops available:

- Terrarium Workshop (18 June, 1pm)

- T-Shirt Scarf Workshop (18 June, 3pm).

Note: Limited to first 25 pax per session. Shoppers to register at the Information Counter at Level 4. The activity will be held at the atrium.

Below is a short video and some photo taken during the Terrarium workshop:

the small stones and pebbles for decorating the terrarium.

The plants and bottle

First we fill up the bottom with some small stones.

Then we added some moss.

Then we add in the soil.

Then we dig a hole around 50cent coin size and put the plant in.
Add the colour stones, pebbles and decorative figurines and we are done!

So this is my completed terrarium!!!

Thanks One Raffles Place! I have enjoyed myself at the terrarium workshop!

INTERVIEW WITH MR WORLD SINGAPORE 2022 (SENIOR): S3 UMAR ABDUL HAMID

 1) During your entire time of Mr World Singapore 2022 from the time you auditioned till you won the title, tell us - what was the most overwhelming moment for you? Personally, as the grand final day drew nearer, and diet and water had to be stricter, it was hard trying to keep up with the nutrition portion as well as the rest and recovery portion. Aside from that, i was starting to feel a little more anxious that i should and a huge part of it was because i invited my mother to be part of the audience and i wanted the event to be memorable for her. But i guess everything was worth it in the end.  2) What was the prep process like? From the auditions all the way to the Grand Finals, i knew i had to step up as prior to the audition, i let myself go quite abit because of the fact that i was juggling between work and handling my 3 children. But i guess after the audition. i made a clear intent to give 100% to get ready for the grand finals and since then, i made more conscious de...

My Honest Review of the LUMOS Tablet — Budget-Friendly, Surprisingly Capable

I’ve always had a soft spot for discovering local tech gems — and that’s how I stumbled onto the LUMOS Tablet. You probably know LUMOS for their projectors, but they’ve recently launched a tablet that caught my attention. Spoiler: For the price, it actually delivers. Here’s my personal take after using it for a couple of weeks — plus the specs you’ll want to know. ⸻ First Impressions Unboxing the LUMOS Tablet felt like a good start. It has a 10.1-inch Full HD IPS Display (1920 x 1200), which immediately stood out — bright, clear, and vibrant enough for Netflix marathons or YouTube spirals. The tablet weighs around 500g and has a sleek, modern design that doesn’t feel cheap at all. It’s light enough to toss in your tote or backpack without feeling like you’re carrying a brick. ⸻ Under the Hood – Technical Specs Here’s a quick look at what powers this tablet: • Processor: Octa-Core 2.0GHz • RAM: 4GB • Storage: 64GB (expandable up to 256GB via MicroSD) • Operating System: ...
